CAN'T FIND WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR?
Sure, we've got it. Our sexologists will be delighted to help you find it.
Intimate dryness is one of the most common things and one of the least talked about. It appears with menopause, but also after childbirth, during breastfeeding, with some contraceptives or simply during a stressful period. It’s not a problem that needs to be rushed to solve: it’s a sign that the body is asking for a different kind of care, and the good news is that it is well manageable.
This is the most common confusion and the one that causes the most failed purchases. The lubricant is used at the moment and lasts as long as the encounter lasts. The intimate moisturiser is applied regularly, whether there is sex or not, and works on daily comfort. Many people who buy lubricant were actually looking for the latter or need both. If you notice discomfort outside of sex as well, start with the moisturiser.
Water-based ones are the most versatile: compatible with condoms and silicone toys, easy to clean, and the gentlest for sensitive skin. They don’t last as long, so it's good to have the bottle handy. Silicone ones last much longer and don’t reactivate with water, but shouldn’t be used with silicone toys because they affect the material. If you’re combining a toy and lubricant, water-based is the answer.
With sensitive skin, fewer ingredients is better. Look for formulas without added perfumes or scents, without parabens, and with a pH designed for the area. Those with aloe or hyaluronic acid usually sit well. And be wary of warming or cooling effects at this stage: they are fun but sting where they shouldn’t when the mucosa is thinner.
There’s no need to give them up, but rather choose differently. Medical-grade silicone over hard plastics, moderate sizes over the usual ones, and adjustable vibration to start low. Dilators help to regain comfort gradually and without rush, and pelvic floor balls are one of those accessories that pay off in the long run.
None of this is about performance. It’s about being comfortable, regaining interest at your own pace, and making sure sex is something you want, not something you endure. If discomfort is constant or pain appears, talking to your gynecologist is the first step: these products support, they don’t replace anyone.
