It did thicken up as it cooled on our skin, but it might be wise to use less water initially. Secondly, the included sheet was very thin and small, making it tricky to move around on it without it shifting. We solved this by placing it on an old queen-sized air mattress with some towels as padding. While it was nice that they included the sheet, you may want to consider finding a sturdier surface to play on, like a blow-up swimming pool, to avoid any mishaps.
