What is INTIMRELAX?

Intimrelax is a set of vaginal dilators designed to help with atrophic vaginitis. By incorporating these tools into your routine, you can experience less pain and more elasticity, leading to a more comfortable and enjoyable intimate experience.

The kit includes three different-sized dilators to gradually help stretch the vaginal canal. Start with the smallest size until it becomes comfortable, then move to the next size. You should never feel pain if you follow the correct breathing and relaxation techniques and use a water-based lubricant to aid insertion.

Atrophic vaginitis is caused by a decrease in estrogen levels. When estrogen decreases, vaginal tissues become thinner, potentially causing vaginal dryness.

Estrogen levels typically drop after menopause, but some women may also notice a decrease while breastfeeding, as estrogen levels are lower during this time.

Psychological factors are significant contributors, as the fear of penetration often causes vaginal muscle tension during intercourse, exacerbating negative symptoms:

• Burning or stinging during urination
• Light bleeding after intercourse
• Pain during sex
• Light vaginal discharge
• Discomfort, burning, or itching in the vulva
• Vaginal prolapse (downward movement of the vaginal walls affecting normal positioning)
  Intimrelax helps gradually stretch the vaginal canal while easing the fear of penetration. Always use it with a water-based lubricant for easier exercises, and apply a vaginal moisturizer to hydrate the vaginal tissues. Avoid petroleum jelly or oils, as they may damage the medical-grade silicone dilators.

How to Use

Apply a small amount of water-based lubricant to the vaginal entrance and gently massage for 2-3 minutes.

Next, take the smallest dilator, apply some water-based lubricant to its tip, and slowly and gently insert it. If dryness occurs, apply more lubricant.

Continue the exercise for 10 to 15 minutes, making gentle up and down movements. Remember, muscle tension is counterproductive, so stop if your muscles contract.

The goal is to relax the vaginal area and enjoy the process. It's best to do these exercises in a spacious, comfortable setting to maximize relaxation. One session every day is sufficient.

Once the smaller dilator feels comfortable, you can move to the next size. Don’t rush; consistent practice is what matters most.

Notes

- For cancer treatments, consider additional factors. When using a vaginal lubricant, choose a fragrance-free, dye-free, spermicide-free water-based gel, as these chemicals can irritate sensitive tissues.

- Oil-based lubricants like petroleum jelly or mineral oil aren't recommended, as they can increase the risk of infection.

- Cancer treatments and surgeries, such as ovarian suppression, may require vaginal moisturizers. These hormone-free products can be used multiple times a week to help maintain normal vaginal moisture and pH balance, benefiting up to 2-3 days. Apply them at night for best absorption during sleep (especially recommended for women who have had cancer, used 3-5 times weekly).

- Vaginal moisturizers are distinct from lubricants; they offer longer-lasting moisture and aren't designed for intimacy.

Precautions and Warnings

If you don't notice improvement after regularly using the dilators for 3 months, consult your healthcare provider for alternative options.
Avoid using vaginal dilators if you have a vaginal infection.
Always use water-based lubricant only. Silicone, petroleum jelly, or oil-based lubricants may damage the product.
Care and Cleaning
It's crucial to keep the dilators clean to prevent infections.

Wash the dilators with water and a pH-neutral soap before and after each use, and dry them with a lint-free towel. These are personal items; do not share them to avoid infections. Sterilization isn't necessary, but if you wish to, use a chemical solution used for baby bottles (avoid hot water or disinfectants as these can damage the silicone).
